Captive manager Caledonian Insurance Services has merged with Captiva Managers.

The merged company is trading under the name Captiva Managers and will provide management through its offices in the Cayman Islands, Anguilla and the British Virgin Islands.

Conor Jennings is the managing director of the combined group, while Captiva?s founder Harry J. Thompson will continue as group director.
?
Jennings (pictured) said the initial plans for Captiva were ?to enjoy the obvious benefits of economies of scale, to utilise our combined legal, insurance, risk management and accounting skills, and to tap into our combined network of international clients and contacts?.
?
He said Captiva?s mid to long-term vision was to leverage the combined legal, fiduciary and insurance skills to develop innovative captive insurance services.
?
?These will involve the blending of traditional captive insurance with asset protection and estate planning products. Since merging, we have already set up a number of these new structures, and have others in the pipeline,? said Jennings.
