A San Diego-based U.S. Coast Guard helicopter crew hoisted a 65-year-old man with chest and back pain from a 90-foot sport-fishing vessel off the Baja California coast, Coast Guard officials said Saturday.
The Coast Guard was called about 2:45 p.m. Friday to give medical attention to a passenger on the San Diego-based Polaris Supreme, which was about 166 miles south of the U.S.-Mexico border, according to Petty Officer 3rd Class Connie Terrell.
The Coast Guard crew hoisted the man to the helicopter and flew him to the Coast Guard station at San Diego, where he was turned over to emergency personnel for treatment, Terrell said.
